The numbers
How much does IPTV cost per month in Canada?
Each cell shows the total you pay once, then what that works out to per month. Every plan has the same channels and features: 30,000+ live channels, the on-demand library, 7-day catch-up, the TV guide and PPV events. Only the number of screens streaming at once and the length change the price.
| Screens at once | 1 month | 3 months | 6 months | 12 months |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 device | $18 ($18.00/mo) | $28 ($9.33/mo) | $48 ($8.00/mo) | $78 ($6.50/mo) |
| 2 devices | $28 ($28.00/mo) | $48 ($16.00/mo) | $88 ($14.67/mo) | $128 ($10.67/mo) |
| 3 devices | $38 ($38.00/mo) | $68 ($22.67/mo) | $118 ($19.67/mo) | $178 ($14.83/mo) |
| 4 devices | $48 ($48.00/mo) | $88 ($29.33/mo) | $128 ($21.33/mo) | $198 ($16.50/mo) |
Monthly figures are the plan price divided by its months, rounded to the cent. You pay the plan total once; nothing is billed monthly.
The biggest drop is between one month and three months: on one screen, three months costs $28, only $10 more than a single month. Whatever province you live in, the IPTV cost Canada-wide is the same, because each plan has one price in every province and territory.
Per screen
What does each extra screen cost?
Bigger plans cost less per screen. On a 12-month plan, here is the price per screen per month:
1 screen
$78 a year for one screen.
2 screens
$128 a year, split across two screens.
3 screens
$178 a year, split across three screens.
4 screens
$198 a year, split across four screens.
“Screens” means devices streaming at the same moment. You can install the app on more devices than your plan allows, as long as only that many play at once. One login covers the plan, and streaming on more devices than the plan allows can get the login suspended.
Budget for these
Costs to plan for beyond the subscription
A fair answer to what IPTV costs includes the things around the plan. There are three, and you may already have all of them.
- A streaming device, if you need one. Many homes already have a Samsung or LG smart TV, a phone or a computer, and those work. If your TV is older, a Fire TV Stick, an Android TV or Google TV box, or an Apple TV does the job. Device prices are set by the stores that sell them.
- A player-app fee on some devices. Smart IPTV, a player app for Samsung and LG TVs, costs a one-time €5.49 per TV, paid to its developer at siptv.app. IBO Player and SET IPTV offer a 7-day trial, then ask for activation per device. These fees go to the app developer, not to us, and we can’t refund them.
- Your internet. Plan on about 10 Mbps for each HD stream and 25 Mbps for each 4K stream. Most people keep their current home plan; check your speed in the evening before deciding.
Not sure which app your TV needs? Our setup page covers each device, and we tell you on WhatsApp before you pay.
Never charged
What you won’t pay for
- Setup fee. None, on any plan.
- Equipment rental. You use your own TV or device.
- Auto-renewal. Plans never renew on their own. When a plan ends, you decide.
- Sports packs. TSN, Sportsnet, RDS and TVA Sports are on every plan.
- PPV events. UFC and boxing PPV events are included.
- Sales tax on top. Prices are in CAD with tax included.
- The trial. 24 hours of the full service, with no card or payment.
Worked examples
How to pick the cheapest plan that fits
The cheapest plan is the smallest one that covers how many screens play at the same time, for the longest length you are sure about. Three common households:
One viewer, one TV
Twelve single months at $18 add up to $216. The 12-month plan is $78. Not ready for a year? Three months is $28, or $9.33 a month.
Two TVs in use at once
The 2-device yearly plan is $128. Two separate 1-device yearly plans would be $156. One shared plan saves $28.
A busy family home
Four screens for 6 months cost $128, or $21.33 a month. The 12-month plan is $198, or $16.50 a month, if you know you’ll stay.
- Count screens at the same timeThink about your busiest evening. That number is your device count.
- Test on your own internetUse the free 24-hour trial during the hours you watch most, on the devices you’ll use.
- Check the app cost for each TVIf a smart TV needs a paid player app, add that one-time fee to your budget.
- Pick the lengthLonger is cheaper per month. Every paid plan is refundable in full within 30 days of payment, for any reason.
- Pay the way you likeInterac e-Transfer, card or PayPal. Your login follows as soon as the payment clears.
Context
How does that compare with cable?
Cable prices vary by provider, region and promotion, so we don’t quote them. The one fixed number is the CRTC rule: every licensed TV provider must offer an entry-level basic package at no more than $25 a month, not including equipment. TSN and Sportsnet are not mandatory basic channels, so on cable they are optional extras on top of that basic package.
That is the main structural difference. On cable, the price climbs as you add channel groups. With Diablos IPTV, the full line-up is in every plan and the price only moves with screens and length. The full side-by-side is on our IPTV vs cable page.
Honest limits
What the price doesn’t cover
- Streaming-only content. Prime Video’s Wednesday NHL games, Crave originals and TOU.TV Extra exclusives have no TV channel, so they need their own subscriptions.
- Refunds after 30 days. After the 30-day window, remaining time isn’t refunded, except when a confirmed outage on our side lasts more than 24 continuous hours (your plan is extended by the outage length) or if we discontinue the service (the unused part is refunded pro rata). The details are in our refund policy.
- Player-app fees. Paid to the app developer, so they sit outside our refund.
When you are ready, the order buttons for every plan are on the pricing page, and the rest of the service is described on the Diablos IPTV home page.
