How do you set up IPTV on Apple TV or iPhone?
- Update the device. On Apple TV, open Settings, then System, then Software Updates. The latest version is tvOS 27.2, released October 26, 2026. Some apps need a recent version to install.
- Get the app. Open the App Store, search for the app you picked and choose Get or the price. On Apple TV, apps bought for iPhone do not always carry over, so install it on the TV itself.
- Add your login. Open the app and choose to add a playlist or provider. Pick Xtream Codes if offered, then enter the server address, username and password we sent you. Most apps also accept the M3U link we include.
- Let the guide load. The channels and the TV guide load in about a minute. Leave the app open the first time.
- Repeat on other devices. Install the same app on your iPhone or iPad and enter the same login. How many screens can watch at the same time depends on your plan.

What speed does an Apple TV need for 4K?
Apple recommends at least 25 Mbps for 4K streaming. That matches our own advice for live channels: about 25 Mbps for each 4K stream and about 10 Mbps for each HD stream watched in your home at the same time. Apple only allows apps from the App Store, so you choose from the players listed there. App purchases and subscriptions are paid to the developers through Apple, and Apple’s refund rules apply, not ours. Content that streams only inside another company’s app is not part of our TV guide.
