Watch Canadiens games in French or English
If you want to watch Canadiens games in French this season, you need both RDS and TVA Sports: RDS has 45 regional regular-season games, and TVA Sports has the national French package with 32 more, plus every playoff game. In English, regional games are on TSN’s regional feed and national games are on Sportsnet. Diablos IPTV includes all of these channels on every plan. Prime Video’s Wednesday games are the exception, since they stream only.
Who broadcasts the Habs
Three channels to know, plus one streaming package
RDS
Regional French rights. RDS keeps 45 Canadiens regular-season games. RDS 2 often takes the second game when two overlap.
TVA Sports
National French rights. 32 Canadiens regular-season games inside a package of up to 350, every Canadiens playoff game, the conference finals and the Stanley Cup Final.
TSN and Sportsnet
English regional Canadiens games air on TSN’s regional feed. English national games are on Sportsnet, under the Rogers deal through 2037-38.
The fourth piece is Prime Video’s national Wednesday-night package: 27 games in English and French for Prime members. It has no TV channel behind it, so it is outside our guide and every other TV guide.
The French split, explained
TVA Sports or RDS: who has which Canadiens game?
French hockey changed hands this year. On September 3, 2026, TVA Sports signed a 12-year sublicence for the national French package, running until 2037-38. RDS held on to the regional French rights. The result for a Habs fan looks like this:
| Game | French | English |
|---|---|---|
| Regional regular-season game | RDS (45 games) | TSN regional feed |
| National regular-season game | TVA Sports (32 Canadiens games) | Sportsnet |
| Wednesday national game | Prime Video only | Prime Video only |
| Canadiens playoff game | TVA Sports, every one | Check the broadcast listing |
| Conference finals, Stanley Cup Final | TVA Sports | Check the broadcast listing |
One more change for English viewers: on June 16, 2026 CBC confirmed it would no longer sublicense NHL coverage from Rogers, so don’t go looking for the Canadiens on CBC. Sportsnet is the national English home.
Favourites
A favourites list for a bilingual hockey household
In a bilingual home, the language can change with whoever holds the remote. Build one favourites group with both sets of channels. In most player apps you highlight a channel, hold the OK button, and choose add to favourites. Then add these:
- French first: RDS, RDS 2, TVA Sports, TVA Sports 2 and TVA Sports 3.
- English regional: all five TSN channels, TSN 1 to 5. The guide shows which one carries the Canadiens on a given night.
- English national: the Sportsnet feeds, including Sportsnet East, the regional feed for Québec and Atlantic Canada.
- Overflow: when games overlap, the second one often moves to RDS 2 or TVA Sports 2. Having them pinned saves a search.
If the guide shows the wrong hour, set the device time zone to Eastern. Otherwise the guide is off by hours and the game seems to be missing.
Habs fans outside Québec
Canadiens game times across Canada
Montréal and Québec City are on Eastern time. A Canadiens game that starts at 7 pm Eastern starts at 8 pm in Halifax, 6 pm in Winnipeg, 5 pm in Calgary and Edmonton and 4 pm in Vancouver.
The regional rights belong to the team’s broadcast region, but that doesn’t limit what you see on our service. RDS and the TSN regional feed sit in the guide on every plan, so a fan who wants to watch Canadiens games from Calgary or Vancouver picks them by name like anyone in Montréal. For an early western start, 7-day catch-up on supported channels lets you play the game from the beginning after work.

Limits Canadiens fans should know
Commentary follows the channel. RDS and TVA Sports are French only. TSN and Sportsnet are English. You choose a language by choosing a channel; there is no audio switch between the two.
Wednesday games: the Prime Video package stays inside Prime Video. We can’t put a streaming-only game in a TV guide.
Old games: catch-up holds 7 days, then a game drops off.
Internet: about 10 Mbps per HD stream and 25 Mbps per 4K stream. Montréal homes on Vidéotron or Bell internet can use either; IPTV runs on any provider.
